Quaternary Stratigraphy and Paleoceanography of the Canada Basin, Western Arctic Ocean By Richard Z. Poore, Scott E. Ishman, R. Lawrence Phillips, and David H. McNeil U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY BULLETIN Climate and paleoceanography of the western Arctic Ocean for the last 1 million years interpreted from four marine sediment cores. Deposits of three Wisconsinan substages (Early, Middle and Late), Sangamonian Stage, Ulinoian Stage and older Quaternary stratigraphic units are recognized in Western Canada. The age assignment of these units is based on radiocarbon dating, vertebrate paleontology, paleomagnetic data, and on dating and correlation of tephra. Quaternary deposits older than Ulinoian are probably present in most.
Three boreholes, ten vibrocores, and high-resolution seismic reflection records were analyzed to reconstruct the stratigraphy of the topmost 50 m of the sedimentary column . This report summarizes 1 map from the results of a regional stratigraphic study of the Quaternary sequence in the Edmonton map area. The objective of this study was to define the three-dimensional distribution of the glacial and nonglacial lithological units to assist in the evaluation of the natural resources in the Edmonton region.

The Subcommission on Quaternary Stratigraphy (SQS) is a constituent body of the International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS), the largest scientific organisation within the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS).
It is also the only body concerned with stratigraphy on a global scale for the whole geological column. Its most important major objective is the establishment of a.

The Chesapeake and Delaware Canal (C & D Canal) connects the Delaware River and upper Chesapeake Bay (Elk River) (Fig. The best geologic exposures are located east of Delaware “Deep Cut,„ the bluff on the north side of the canal just east of the bridge crossing at Summit, Delaware.
Of the five accompanying plates, three depict eleven stages of Quaternary paleogeographic change betw B.P. and 5, B.P.; one depicts the retreat of the ice from betw B.P. and the Recent; and another reviews the status of Quaternary geologic mapping in Canada, with an extensive bibliography on the back.

The north Okanagan Valley extends from the north end of Okanagan Lake to Enderby in the southern interior of British Columbia, Canada. In recent years there has been a virtual explosion of stratigraphic studies utilizing the principles of sequence stratigraphy.
